President Luong Cuong's visit to Laos from April 24-25, 2025 was carried out at the invitation of General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith.
According to VNA, welcoming President Luong Cuong and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation at Wattay airport were Head of the Lao Presidential Office Khemmani Pholsena; Vientiane Governor-in-Chief Atsaphangthong Siphandone; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Laos; Ambassador of Laos to Vietnam Khamphao Ernthavanh; and a number of leaders of Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs units.
Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam and officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos were also present at the airport to welcome the President and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation.
In the warm and friendly atmosphere, representatives of overseas Vietnamese and Vietnamese students in Laos as well as a large number of Lao students and people held the national flags of the two countries to welcome the President and the delegation at the airport.
This visit of President Luong Cuong took place at the time when the two countries were strongly implementing the resolution of each Party, the socio -economic development plan of each country and has achieved many important and proud achievements; The cooperation between the two countries of Vietnam and Laos is developing very well, the agreements of the senior leaders of the two parties, the cooperation agreements between the two governments are being actively implemented by the two sides and achieved many important results in all fields.
The visit not only contributed to deepening the special solidarity of Vietnam - Laos, but also an opportunity for the two sides to exchange the situation of each party, each country, the situation of the world and the area that the two sides are concerned. At the same time, assessing the implementation of cooperative relations between the two countries over the past time, exchanging measures to promote the special solidarity of Vietnam - Laos continues to develop deeply in the fields in the near future.
During his visit to Laos, President Luong Cuong is expected to attend the official welcoming ceremony, hold talks with General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith, and witness the signing ceremony of cooperation documents between the two countries.
The President will also have meetings with the Prime Minister and Chairman of the Lao National Assembly; visit former senior leaders of Laos; attend official receptions of the General Secretary and President of Laos; attend the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Exchange; visit the Vietnamese Embassy; meet the Vietnamese community in Laos and some other important activities.
