At the invitation of General Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Thongloun Sisoulith, Politburo member, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Luong Cuong led a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation to pay a state visit to Laos from April 24-25, 2025.
Accompanying President Luong Cuong were Politburo members: Do Van Chien, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense; General Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security.
Joining the delegation, there were Mr. Le Minh Tri, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court; with the Party Central Committee members: Bui Thanh Son, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Nguyen Thi Thanh, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly; Le Khanh Hai, Chairman of the President's Office; Nguyen Van Hung, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Nguyen Manh Cuong, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Comrade Nguyen Minh Tam, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Laos joined the delegation.
This is President Luong Cuong's first State visit to Laos, demonstrating Vietnam's high regard and priority for Laos and the determination of the leaders of the two Parties and countries in promoting the special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
The visit took place when the two parties and the two countries were drastically implementing the Resolution of the Party Congress and the socio -economic development plan of each country, and at the same time promoted the successful implementation of the results between the two Politburo, the meeting between the three leaders of the three parties of Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia, the meeting of the Intergovernment Committee of Vietnam - Laos and many other senior agreements.
The visit will contribute to concretizing and promoting the implementation of many cooperation contents between the two countries in a more substantial and effective manner in the coming time.
