According to the announcement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Luong Cuong will pay a state visit to the Lao People's Democratic Republic from April 24-25, 2025.
The visit was made at the invitation of General Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Thongloun Sisoulith.
Previously, on April 17, during a meeting with President Luong Cuong on the occasion of Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone attending the 4th Global Partnership for Green Growth and Goals (P4G) Summit in Hanoi, Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone shared Laos' major activities in 2025, including his wish to soon welcome President Luong Cuong to Laos and coordinate with Vietnam to organize events to honor the close solidarity, mutual support and development between Vietnam and Laos.
The two leaders expressed their delight at the important results of bilateral relations in recent times, especially strengthening political trust, tightening security and defense cooperation, resolving difficulties, promoting economic cooperation, local and diverse exchanges and richness.
The two sides emphasized the importance of actively coordinating and organizing major anniversary activities of the two countries in 2025, thereby contributing to raising awareness for the younger generation, fostering tradition, promoting the spirit of solidarity, close attachment, making the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos increasingly brilliant.
