On the evening of April 29, in Ho Chi Minh City, Politburo member and President Luong Cuong chaired a solemn reception for heads of delegations from countries and friendly parties to Vietnam to attend the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
Attending the reception were General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith; President of the Cambodian People's Party, President of the Cambodian Senate Samdech Techo Hun Sen; Vice President of Cuba Salvador Valdes Mesa, leaders, representatives of countries, party organizations and friends from many countries around the world.
The great victory in the spring of 1975 was a great victory of the history of thousands of years of national struggle and defense of the Vietnamese nation, "forever recorded in the history of the nation as one of the most dazzling pages, a shining symbol of the victory of revolutionary heroism and human intelligence, and enter the world history as a great feat of the 20th century".
That great victory marked the day when the Vietnamese river group - North and South gathered together, opening a new era - the era of independence and unity, the whole country moving towards socialism.
In the welcome speech, on behalf of the Party's leaders, the State, the people of Vietnam, the Politburo Member, the President of the State of Warmly welcomed and thanked the leaders of all countries and international friends for attending the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) in Ho Chi Minh City; Emphasizing the presence of representatives of countries that doubled the joy of the great festival of the Vietnamese nation.
President Luong Cuong emphasized that the great victory day of the Vietnamese nation today is an opportunity for the Vietnamese people to remember and grateful to the great merits of the sea of President Ho Chi Minh, the leaders of the senior, heroes, martyrs, compatriots, comrades who fought, dedicated, sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the nation, for the happiness of the people.
Along with that, this is also an opportunity for the Party, State and people of Vietnam to express gratitude for the valuable, sincere, and effective support and assistance of brotherhood socialist countries, international friends and peace-loving people around the world.
Affirming that Vietnam is currently full of determination and hope to enter a new era, an era of rising to development, wealth and prosperity, President Luong Cuong hopes to continue to receive valuable support and close and effective cooperation from international friends.
At the reception, the delegates also enjoyed a special concert art program with national melodies, Hue royal music concests, performances of national musical instruments, praising the beautiful, peaceful and hospitable country of Vietnam, performed by the Bong Sen Ethnic Music and Dance Theater and the Ho Chi Minh City Symphony, Music and Drama Theater.
