VNA reported that at 2:50 p.m. on October 29, local time (ie 12:50 p.m. Vietnam time), the plane carrying Politburo member and President Luong Cuong and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation arrived at Gimhae military airport in Busan (Korea), starting the program to attend the 32nd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit Week and working bilaterally in Korea at the invitation of President of the Republic of Korea Lee Jae Myung.
Welcoming President Luong Cuong and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation at the airport to Korea were Director of the Diplomatic Academy Choi Hyung Chan and leaders of Busan city.
On the Vietnamese side were Vietnamese Ambassador to South Korea Vu Ho, Vietnamese Consulate General in Busan Doan Phuong Lan, and officials and staff of the Embassy and Consulate General of Vietnam.
APEC Summit Week 2025 with the theme "Building a Sustainable Tomorrow" and 3 main priorities on Connectivity, Innovation and Prosperity. Attending this conference is an opportunity for Vietnam to promote the image of a dynamic economy, deeply integrating and always accompanying the region towards the goal of "Connection - Innovation - Prosperity"; at the same time, affirming Vietnam's role as an active, responsible member and increasingly proactive in shaping regional cooperation structure, preparing for hosting APEC 2027.
On the bilateral level, in the context of the Vietnam - Korea relationship developing very well, the working trip of President Luong Cuong is an opportunity for the two sides to continue to consolidate and deepen the foundation of good political relations, promote the effective implementation of the high-level commitments and agreements reached in the past, making the good cooperation between the two countries more substantial and effective contributions to the development of each country in the current important development period.
Within the framework of participating in the APEC Summit Week, the President is expected to have meetings with many leaders of APEC economies, meet with leaders of world-leading corporations and enterprises, thereby contributing to deepening bilateral relations with partners, mobilizing resources to serve the country's socio-economic development goals.
In particular, President Luong Cuong will attend, dialogue and deliver an important speech at the APEC 2025 Business Summit, thereby helping international friends continue to accompany, support and stand side by side with Vietnam in the new development stage.
