On the morning of March 3, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc presided over the ceremony to hand over the decision to the cadres.
The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee decided to establish the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Development Management Board on the basis of merging the Thu Thiem Urban Development Area Management Board and the Northwest Urban Development Area Management Board, and at the same time receiving a number of tasks, personnel, and finance from the Investment Management Board and Construction of the new urban area in South Ho Chi Minh City (after this board was dissolved).
The Ho Chi Minh City Urban Development Management Board has the function of advising the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee in urban management and development in the area. In the immediate future, the scope of management includes three large urban areas: Thu Thiem, Tay Bac and Nam Ho Chi Minh City.
Regarding personnel, Mr. Truong Thanh Binh and Mr. Vuong Hoai Nam are Deputy Heads of the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Development Management Board.
The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee also decided to merge the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Infrastructure Construction Investment Project Management Board and the Management Board of Agricultural Construction Investment Projects and Rural Development to establish the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Infrastructure Construction Investment Project Management Board.
This Board is responsible for the role of investor in technical infrastructure projects, including water supply and drainage, flood prevention, green parks, urban lighting, as well as projects serving agriculture and rural development.
Regarding personnel, Mr. Dau An Phuc is the Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Infrastructure Construction Investment Project Management Board. The two Deputy Directors include Mr. Nguyen Hoang Anh Dung and Mr. Van Phu Thai.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc emphasized that the rearrangement of the administrative apparatus is an important step to implement the streamlining and efficiency policy, in line with Conclusion 127 of the Politburo and the Secretariat. Previously, Ho Chi Minh City had completed the restructuring of departments and branches and officially put them into operation from March 1.
Today, Ho Chi Minh City issued a decision to establish two new departments on the basis of restructuring 5 departments. These are units with a larger scale, operating more strongly, taking on important tasks in urban and infrastructure development of Ho Chi Minh City" - Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc emphasized.
The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee expects the new leaders to continue to promote their capacity, bravery, and experience to make Ho Chi Minh City develop more strongly, especially in the context of Ho Chi Minh City aiming for double-digit growth by 2025 and organizing many important events such as the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification, and Party Congresses at all levels.
