Hanoi National University (VNU-HN) has organized a Conference to collect opinions from voters in the working area to introduce personnel from the VNU-HN Office to run for National Assembly deputies of the XVI term and deputies of the Hanoi City People's Council of the XVII term, term 2026-2031.
At the Conference, Secretary of the Party Committee, Director of VNU-HN Hoang Minh Son was introduced to run for National Assembly Deputy of the XVI term.
Commenting from voters, Comrade Hoang Minh Son is a leading cadre with prestige, strategic vision and a lot of experience in managing higher education, science and technology.
During his work, Comrade Hoang Minh Son played an important role in forming, completing and organizing the implementation of many major guidelines and policies on training, contributing to promoting fundamental and comprehensive innovation in higher education in Vietnam.
The comrade's introduction to run for National Assembly Deputy of the XVI term shows the Party and State's trust in the team of leading intellectuals and education managers, and at the same time contributes to strengthening the voice of VNU-HN in legislative activities and national policy planning.

Starting from the position of a teacher, scientist and manager in the field of higher education, Comrade Hoang Minh Son said that this is an opportunity for candidates to expand their contribution scope, not only as individuals but also with the responsibility of representing the voice of intellectuals, scientists, and educational managers; contributing to reflecting the thoughts and aspirations of voters, making practical contributions to improving policies, promoting the development of science, technology, education and culture of the country.
With high confidence from voters, the Conference unanimously introduced comrade Hoang Minh Son as a candidate for National Assembly Deputy of the XVI term.
Along with that, Comrade Tran Thi Thanh Tu - Member of the Party Committee of VNU-HN, Head of the Science and Innovation Committee and Comrade Hua Thanh Hoa - Member of the Party Committee of VNU-HN, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union were also trusted by voters to run for National Assembly Deputy of the XVI term and for Hanoi City People's Council Deputy of the XVII term.
The voters' meeting where they work is an important step in the consultation process, of practical significance in promoting the right to mastery of voters, ensuring democracy, publicity, and transparency in the work of introducing candidates.
The introduction and candidacy of the personnel of VNUHN for the 16th National Assembly term is of particular importance, a great honor, and also a political responsibility as well as contributing to enhancing the position, prestige, and influence of VNUHN in many aspects.
VNU-HN leaders directly participating in National Assembly activities will link theory with practice, thereby making practical contributions to summarizing practice, developing theory, improving the quality of training, scientific research and policy advice.
At the same time, when VNU-HN personnel participate in the National Assembly, it will contribute to strengthening the voice of intellectuals and scientists of leading higher education institutions in the highest state power body.
With strengths in scientific research, policy planning and strategic consulting, delegates from VNU-HN have the opportunity to participate more deeply in the process of building laws and policies in key fields such as education - training, science - technology, innovation, digital transformation and high-quality human resource development.
In addition, the participation of VNU-HN personnel at the National Assembly also contributes to closer connection between management, training, and research practices with legislative and supervisory activities, thereby promptly reflecting the issues raised from the reality of the higher education and science and technology system. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Minh Son is a PhD in Automation Engineering from Dresden University of Technology (Germany). He has worked at Hanoi University of Science and Technology since 2000, was appointed Associate Professor in 2006, and successively held key leadership positions of the school before being appointed Deputy Minister of Education and Training in October 2020. On September 3, 2025, he was appointed by the Prime Minister to hold the position of Chairman of the University Council, Director of Hanoi National University.
