Within the framework of the official visit to the Republic of France and attending the Space Summit, in the evening of September 10 (local time), in Paris, General Secretary and President To Lam and French President Emmanuel Macron met with leaders of a number of leading corporations and businesses of France and Vietnam, according to VNA.
After listening to the report and exchanged opinions, speaking at the meeting, General Secretary and President To Lam said that the most necessary thing at this time is to jointly create a new quality of economic cooperation: more substantive, more balanced, with higher technology content, more sustainable connection and bringing more specific and practical benefits to businesses and people of the two countries.

To continue to consolidate and bring Vietnam-France economic relations to a new height, commensurate with the potential and desires of the two sides, General Secretary and President To Lam requested the business community and agencies of the two countries to focus on shifting from buying and selling goods to joint investment and production. Encourage French corporations to build production facilities, research and development, technical centers, and supplier networks in Vietnam; and encourage Vietnamese businesses to invest in France.
Shift from supplier-customer relationship to technology partnership. Not only stopping at purchasing equipment and technology, but must also aim at technology transfer, human resource training, component manufacturing, research and development, maintenance - repair - operation and promotion of innovation. Shift from bilateral cooperation to jointly building value chains to serve ASEAN, EU and the global market.
General Secretary and President To Lam pointed out that the business community and agencies of the two countries identify key strategic orientations: strategic infrastructure and energy transition; aerospace and high-tech transportation industry; science and technology, AI, quantum, semiconductor, innovation; health, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and high-quality human resources.
General Secretary and President To Lam affirmed that Vietnam is always ready to be a partner for French businesses to access the market of more than 100 million people of Vietnam and the market of ASEAN; connect ASEAN and new generation FTA networks; diversify supply chains; build production, research and development facilities in Asia; and reach third markets with Vietnamese businesses.

Vietnam also encourages Vietnamese businesses with capacity to increase investment, trade presence, technology and brand in France. Vietnam and France complement each other to jointly improve competitiveness in a rapidly and strongly restructuring world.
According to General Secretary and President To Lam, the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership framework has opened a new and promising journey. We have a solid and reliable foundation, a common strategic vision and strong determination. The stage of building the framework has passed; now is the stage of deploying and creating results; it is the time for both sides to take breakthrough actions to bring economic cooperation to new heights.
The business community itself will be the core force to turn potential into projects, turn projects into new technologies, products, jobs and development values. Vietnam is committed to ensuring a stable, transparent, and predictable policy environment; protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of investors; creating an equal competitive environment. The Government and ministries and sectors directly remove obstacles so that today's agreements soon become real projects and soon have specific results.
