According to VNA, within the framework of his official visit to the French Republic, on the morning of September 10 (local time), General Secretary and President To Lam met with National Party Secretary of the French Communist Party Fabien Roussel in Montreuil, where the statue of President Ho Chi Minh and the Ho Chi Minh Space are located, a place of special significance for the relations between the two Parties and two countries.
Expressing his pleasure to meet National Secretary Fabien Roussel again, General Secretary and President To Lam congratulated the success of the 40th National Congress of the French Communist Party and comrade Fabien Roussel on continuing to be trusted to hold the position of National Secretary. General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized that the traditional friendship and solidarity between the two Parties is a precious heritage and one of the important foundations of Vietnam-France relations.
In the context of the two countries' relations developing positively after being upgraded to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in October 2024, General Secretary and President To Lam wished the French Communist Party to continue to promote its role, prestige, and make practical contributions to consolidating political trust and promoting cooperation between the two countries.
Regarding the relationship between the two Parties, General Secretary and President To Lam proposed that the two sides continue to maintain delegation exchanges, strengthen theoretical exchanges on issues of mutual concern, promote the effectiveness of the Theoretical Workshop mechanism; expand cooperation between press agencies, organizations, localities and the young generation of the two countries; strengthen coordination at multilateral party forums, thereby contributing to consolidating the movement for progress, peace and cooperation in the world.
General Secretary and President To Lam hoped that the members of the French Communist Party in their positions in the French political system would continue to pay attention to and support Vietnam-France relations; contributing to the effective implementation of agreements between the two countries and expanding strategic cooperation projects in economy, trade, investment, science and technology, aviation and space, energy, infrastructure and areas where France has strengths.
General Secretary and President To Lam also requested the French Communist Party to continue to contribute to supporting strengthening local cooperation, culture, education, health and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries; pay attention to and create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community in France to integrate, contribute to the locality and Vietnam - France friendly relations.
National Party Secretary Fabien Roussel warmly welcomed General Secretary and President To Lam back to Montreau Park; emphasizing the special significance of the meeting at a location associated with President Ho Chi Minh, who participated in founding the French Communist Party and laid important foundations for the solidarity between communists and peoples of the two countries.
National Party Secretary Fabien Roussel congratulated the success of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam; highly appreciated the development achievements and increasingly high international position of Vietnam; affirmed that the French Communist Party always values the traditional friendship and solidarity with the Communist Party of Vietnam, wishing to strengthen exchanges between the two Parties, promote the role of the young generation and continue to contribute to promoting the French-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership to become more and more substantive.
The two sides agreed to continue to preserve and promote the tradition of solidarity and friendship between the two Parties; strengthen exchanges, experience sharing and coordination at multilateral party forums; emphasize the necessity of strengthening dialogue and cooperation, promoting multilateralism, and jointly contributing to peace, justice, social progress and sustainable development.
