On February 4, the People's Committee of Hoang Sa Special Zone (Da Nang City) held the Inauguration Ceremony of the Hoang Sa Special Zone People's Committee Name Sign at the Hoang Sa Exhibition House (No. 284 Hoang Sa Street, Son Tra Ward).

The activity is organized to celebrate the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2026), in order to affirm the position, role and legal basis of the Hoang Sa Special Zone, and at the same time contribute to promoting propaganda and education of patriotic traditions, raising awareness and responsibility of officials, people and tourists in protecting the sacred sea and island sovereignty of the Fatherland.
The Hoang Sa Special Zone People's Committee name sign project is built associated with the Sovereignty Stele model, with special political, historical and legal significance, contributing to affirming Vietnam's sovereignty over the Hoang Sa archipelago in the current context. The project includes the Hoang Sa Special Zone People's Committee name sign item associated with the Sovereignty Stele and flagpole model, with dimensions of 10.5m x 3.15m, located in the campus of Hoang Sa Special Zone People's Committee, convenient for people and tourists to visit and learn.
Behind the project are decorative monolithic stone walls, foundation structure and fixed reinforced concrete pillars, engraved with the words: "Hoang Sa archipelago belongs to Vietnam's territory" and "Hoang Sa (Paracel Islands) is Viet Nam's territory".
The sovereignty stele is made of monolithic granite, the top is attached with a five-pointed yellow star; the stele body is engraved with content affirming sovereignty. The flagpole is made of stainless steel 304 resistant to rust, the base is made of granite, and the national flag of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam is hung.
The construction of the project was implemented on the basis of researching and comparing historical and legal sources at home and abroad, and at the same time consulting opinions from experts and scientists. Many international press documents, especially French press in 1938, reflected the erection of sovereignty steles in the Hoang Sa archipelago, which is evidence of the continuous establishment and exercise of sovereignty by the State of Vietnam.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Nam Hung - Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee said that since being assigned by the Central Government to manage the State for the Hoang Sa archipelago, Da Nang city has always identified this as a particularly important political responsibility.
The city has persistently and consistently implemented administrative management activities, preserved and promoted historical and legal documents; promoted domestic and foreign information and propaganda; closely combined legal reasoning, historical evidence with the strength of culture, education and people-to-people diplomacy in protecting sea and island sovereignty.
In that process, the People's Committee of Hoang Sa Special Zone has well promoted its role as a specialized focal point; gradually building Hoang Sa into a "red address" for patriotic tradition education, sovereignty awareness, especially for the young generation.
The recognition of Hoang Sa Exhibition House as a tourist destination since 2019 has contributed to bringing Hoang Sa closer to the people and international friends; becoming a space of intersection between scientific research, historical education and promoting the image of Vietnam that loves peace and respects international law," Mr. Hung emphasized.
