On the morning of September 17, at the City Political School Hall, the 1st Da Nang City Party Congress, term 2025-2030, solemnly opened.
Politburo member and Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu attended and directed the Congress.
Also attending the Congress were Mr. Nguyen Duc Hai - Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, leaders of central departments, ministries, branches, localities in the region and 450 official delegates, representing more than 139,500 party members in the entire city Party Committee.
In his opening speech, Da Nang City Party Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet emphasized: In the 2020-2025 term, in the context of many unprecedented difficulties and challenges, the Party Committee and People of the city have united, made efforts, and achieved many important results.
The average GRDP growth rate reached 5.8%/year; services - tourism improved with an average increase of 37%/year; industry grew by 5.9%/year; total budget revenue for the period 2020-2025 reached more than 260.5 trillion VND. Gradually forming high-tech parks, industrial parks and clusters with synchronous and modern infrastructure. In particular, Chu Lai Open Economic Zone is gradually becoming a dynamic economic zone of the region and the whole country.
The city has eliminated temporary houses, sustainably reduced poverty, cared for social security and ensured national defense and security, maintained an investment environment, and is a safe and friendly destination for people and tourists.
The Secretary of the City Party Committee affirmed: "The achieved results are an important premise for Da Nang to confidently enter a new stage of development, affirming the country's growth potential role".
After merging Quang Nam province and Da Nang city, Da Nang city became the newly centrally-governed urban area with the largest area in Vietnam (11.859.59km2), population of more than 3 million people.
Regarding the orientation for the 2025-2030 term, the Congress determined the goal of turning Da Nang into an ecological, smart city by 2030, an international financial center, high-tech, logistics and high-quality tourism in the region. Strive for an average GRDP increase of 11%/year, the scale of GRDP at current prices by 2030 will reach over VND 660 trillion, GRDP per capita will reach 8,500 USD; digital economy accounts for 35-40% of GRDP; urbanization rate reaches over 63%; human development index (HDI) reaches 0.787.
Vision to 2045, building Da Nang city into an ecological and smart city, a free trade center, an international financial center, an industrial center, logistics, innovative startups and a livable, classy tourist city in Asia.
The Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee said that this Congress will consider and decide on 3 breakthrough tasks to soon realize the expectations of the Central Government, cadres, party members and people of the city.
That is to effectively implement specific mechanisms and policies, especially the pilot of the Free Trade Zone and International Financial Center; develop science - technology, innovation associated with high-quality human resources and build a modern, unique Da Nang, improve people's lives, especially in mountainous areas.
The 1st Congress of the Da Nang City Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030, will take place until September 18, 2025.
