On the afternoon of July 1, the People's Council of Dong Nai province, term X, 2021 - 2026, held its first session to review and decide on the contents of the organization and personnel of the new Dong Nai province.
At the session, the Standing Committee of the People's Council of Dong Nai province announced the number of delegates of the People's Council of Dong Nai province (new), term 2021 - 2026 including 121 people.
At the same time, the Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee was announced on the appointment of Ms. Ton Ngoc Hanh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee, to hold the position of Chairwoman of the Dong Nai Provincial People's Council for the 2021 - 2026 term.

Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Ton Ngoc Hanh, Chairman of the People's Council of Dong Nai province, affirmed that the arrangement of local governments at both levels is not simply a change in administrative boundaries but also a historic decision with long-term strategic significance, creating opportunities to innovate management thinking, organization methods and serve the people more effectively. Dong Nai province, after the merger, will become one of the localities with the largest economic scale, population, and natural area in the country, and is expected to become a new growth pole of our country.
Dong Nai province has just been merged between Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc provinces. After the merger, Dong Nai has a population of more than 4.4 million people, a natural area of more than 12,700 km2, and an estimated economic scale of more than 676,700 billion VND, equivalent to 26 billion USD.
