Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung said that the Prime Minister's working trip has a tight schedule with more than 50 activities. The three countries welcomed the delegation with a solemn ceremony, demonstrating their attachment to the traditional relationship and cooperation potential with Vietnam.
The results of the visit contribute to laying a new foundation for strategic cooperation, diversifying partners and expanding development space for businesses and localities. Vietnam and the three countries agreed to upgrade their relations to a Strategic Partnership, making Kuwait, Algeria and South Africa the first three Strategic Partners of Vietnam in the Middle East - Africa. More than 10 cooperation agreements have been signed in various fields.
Through the joint statement to establish a Strategic Partnership and cooperation agreements, as well as through exchanges between the Prime Minister and leaders of ministries and branches with partners, the good traditional relationship between Vietnam and the three countries continues to be strengthened. The Saudi Arabian King spent three times more time as usual to meet Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; the President of Algeria expressed his readiness for "unlimited" cooperation; the Prime Minister of Algeria directly participated in many activities to promote commitments; the President of South Africa received, held talks and signed documents, and appointed the Vice President to co-chair the Business Forum even though this is the peak week of the G20.
All three destinations have important geographical and strategic locations in the Middle East - Africa. South Africa is the G20 Chair in 2025; Algeria is a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the 2024-2025 term and has an important voice in North Africa - Mediterranean; Kuwait has played the role of chairing many activities of the Gulf Cooperation Council and is the gateway to the Gulf of Thailand in finance and energy. The visit contributes to opening up areas of cooperation that are suitable for each country's potential such as energy - petrochemicals, agricultural, aquatic and mineral processing, investment attraction, science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, national defense - security, and people-to-people exchanges.
At the G20 Summit, Vietnam was invited to attend as a guest for the second consecutive time, reflecting its increasingly high role and position. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh gave two major speeches on strengthening international solidarity and sustainable development; mentioning issues such as essential minerals, labor, and employment. Vietnam's message is highly appreciated for its socio-economic development achievements and comprehensive development orientation. The Vietnamese delegation also proposed strengthening the existing cooperation mechanism, reforming coordination measures and ensuring a peaceful and stable environment for sustainable development.
On the sidelines of the conference, the Prime Minister met with 30 leaders of countries and international organizations to discuss the guidelines, development situation and institutional improvement results of Vietnam. The Prime Minister also had exchanges with business leaders in the three countries, helping partners better understand development orientations and foreign policies, thereby promoting cooperation in many fields from agriculture, industry to innovation, science and technology and national defense and security.
Vietnam's participation contributes to an important international event, in line with a proactive, positive and responsible foreign policy. Vietnam also received the sharing and sympathy of leaders of countries and international organizations for the damage caused by storms and floods and pledged to be ready to support overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, towards common efforts in responding to climate change.
