The Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed that on the morning of July 12, upon receiving news that a tourist ship encountered an accident due to bad weather in An Giang province on July 11, causing many casualties to Indian tourists, General Secretary and President To Lam and Politburo Member, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung sent condolences to Indian President Droupadi Murmu and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In the telegrams, senior Vietnamese leaders, on behalf of the Party, State and people of Vietnam, sent their sincere regards and deepest condolences to the State and people of India, especially the families of the victims; affirming that Vietnamese functional agencies have been and are urgently implementing rescue and relief measures, treating the injured, supporting the families of the victims and closely coordinating with the Indian side to overcome the consequences of the incident.
On the same day, Politburo Member, Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung also sent condolences to Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.
