The Ministry of National Defense has organized forces and vehicles to support Myanmar in overcoming the consequences of the earthquake, and is expected to depart on March 30.

On March 29, the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) held a conference on sending forces to be ready to participate in earthquake relief in Myanmar.

Senior General Huynh Chien Thang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army - chaired the conference.

Reporting at the conference, the leader of the Department of Rescue said that the 7.7 earthquake that occurred on March 28 in Central Myanmar caused at least 10 aftershocks, with intensity ranging from 2.8 to 7.5. The consequences have left thousands of people dead and injured.

The Department of Rescue has presided over and coordinated with relevant agencies and units to organize the development of plans and establish forces to participate in humanitarian and disaster relief of the Vietnam People's Army in Myanmar, including 79 soldiers, including: Command, information and propaganda forces, rescue forces (including rescue forces under the Engineering Command and training forces, service dogs under the Border Guard Command) and military forces. The commander-in-chief of the force is Colonel Pham Hai Chau - Deputy Director of the Rescue - Rescue Department, General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army.

The General Department of Logistics and Engineering coordinates with the Military Department to organize forces and means to be mobilized to perform tasks. In particular, focusing on ensuring logistics and techniques for search and rescue forces and ensuring relief goods for your country.

The Department of Foreign Affairs deploys all aspects of support for immigration procedures; coordinates with the Air Defense - Air Force and civil airlines to organize the sending of forces for tasks, equipment and relief goods to the shocking areas in Myanmar.

After listening to the authorities and units evaluate and analyze the situation, Senior Lieutenant General Huynh Chien Thang acknowledged the results of the preparation and organization of forces performing relief missions in Myanmar.

The Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army stated that the sending of the Vietnam People's Army to participate in humanitarian assistance and disaster relief in Myanmar demonstrates a high responsibility to the international community of the Party, State and people of Vietnam; affirming the prestige, sense of responsibility and capacity of the Vietnam People's Army in international relations and cooperation.

Senior General Huynh Chien Thang requested the Department of Rescue - Rescue, the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Engineering Corps, the General Department of Logistics - Engineering and related units to closely coordinate and deploy the procedures as quickly as possible so that the task force can set off on March 30.

Agencies and units carefully prepare vehicles and technical equipment, prioritize vehicles that are dual-use, easy to move, and portable; ensure good logistics, materials, goods, and aid goods...

In particular, the task force focuses on resolving relations, coordinating with international forces, local authorities and people; promoting the good qualities of the Vietnam People's Army, leaving a good impression in the hearts of international friends and Myanmar people.
