On July 13, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Military History Museum (LSQS) (General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army) held a ceremony to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of Traditional Day (July 17, 1956 - July 17, 2026) and receive the Third-class Fatherland Protection Medal.
Presenting the commemorative speech, Colonel Le Vu Huy - Director of the Vietnam Military Martyrs' Museum - stated clearly that on July 17, 1956, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) issued a Decision to establish the Construction Board of the Army Museum - the predecessor of the Vietnam Military Martyrs' Museum.
Over 70 years, the museum has gradually developed in terms of structure, organization, functions, and tasks; becoming "a multi-functional, comprehensive, and particularly typical cultural institution of the Army and the State", an important part of the organizational apparatus system for Party work and political work of the Vietnam People's Army.
In any historical period, the Vietnam Military Martyrs' Museum strives to successfully complete the assigned tasks, becoming a first-class museum in the Vietnamese museum system.

Speaking at the Anniversary Ceremony, General Nguyen Trong Nghia - Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army - emphasized that after 70 years of construction, development and growth, the Vietnam Military Martyrs' Museum has affirmed its role as a particularly important cultural institution of the Army and the nation; as a center for preserving, conserving, collecting, researching, displaying and spreading the historical and cultural military values of the nation.
70 years is a proud journey of generations of officials, staff, and soldiers of the Museum, who have persistently and persistently contributed to the cause of preserving the nation's historical heritage and military historical heritage.
According to General Nguyen Trong Nghia, the artifacts, documents, and military cultural heritage stored at the Museum not only have historical, scientific and artistic value, but are also "living witnesses", "bridges between the past and the present".
This place is a cultural space imbued with military features, a propaganda and education center, fostering revolutionary ideals, fostering patriotism, consolidating political bravery, building belief, fighting spirit, national pride, and self-esteem of our officers, soldiers and people; a place to introduce and promote the history, traditions, and culture of the country, people of Vietnam, and the heroic Vietnam People's Army to international friends.
To successfully complete all assigned tasks in the coming time, General Nguyen Trong Nghia noted the strong innovation of thinking from management to modern management; upholding the spirit of proactiveness and active advising on the field of preserving and developing the value of military cultural heritage, contributing to maintaining the leading museum position in the Army and national museum system, gradually reaching regional and international levels; and at the same time, successfully completing the task of building the Vietnam Military Martyrs' Museum phase 2, ensuring strictness, synchronicity, quality, and efficiency.
