According to the investigation of Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, in 2014, Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee issued a document approving the investment in the social housing development project of AMC I social housing area in Quang Thanh ward, former Thanh Hoa City, now Quang Phu ward, Thanh Hoa province.
The project is invested by AMC Toan Cau Development Joint Stock Company, implemented in a fairly prime location, at the intersection between National Highway 1A, the bypass of Thanh Hoa City, and Vo Nguyen Giap Avenue.
The project includes 3 15-story apartment buildings along with a system of green trees, traffic roads and auxiliary works. Total land use area of more than 22,000m2. Of which, the land area for social housing construction is about 11,000m2, with about 900 apartments.
After many years of slow implementation, Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee has extended the implementation time. However, to date, the project is still "motionless".
According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, up to now, the investor has only surrounded the project area with corrugated iron. Inside is still a vacant lot, overgrown with weeds, and construction activities are not recorded.
According to a representative of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Department of Construction, the project's slow progress is the responsibility of the investor. During the implementation process, the investor also constructed illegal items and was administratively fined more than 100 million VND.
Thanh Hoa Provincial Department of Construction is coordinating with relevant departments and branches to work with the investor to remove obstacles and promote project implementation.
