At the conference, the decision was announced on the appointment of Mr. Nguyen Quoc Huy - Director of the Department of Transport to join the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Lao Cai City Party Committee for the 2020 - 2025 term from March 1, 2025; introduced to be elected as Chairman of the Lao Cai City People's Committee, term 2021 - 2026.
Speaking at the conference, Standing Deputy Secretary of Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee Vu Xuan Cuong suggested that Mr. Nguyen Quoc Huy in his new position, together with the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and the Executive Committee of the City Party Committee, continue to unite and lead the city to develop in the right direction, faster and stronger in the coming time.
The Standing Deputy Secretary of Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee requested that along with the arrangement and streamlining of the apparatus, ensuring stable operations, the city needs to do a good job of preparing and organizing party congresses at all levels; promote socio-economic development.
Speaking on receiving the assignment, the new Deputy Secretary of Lao Cai City Party Committee Nguyen Quoc Huy affirmed that he will continue to practice and make every effort with the collective to maintain the tradition of solidarity and unity to overcome difficulties and challenges, successfully organize the implementation of the Resolution of the 23rd City Party Congress, and prepare well for the successful organization of the 24th City Party Congress.
Also at the conference, decisions were announced on the merger of the City Party Committee's Propaganda Department and the City Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department; establishment of the City's Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions; Department of Economics, Infrastructure and Urban Areas; Department of Culture, Science and Information of the City; Department of Agriculture and Environment of the City; Department of Internal Affairs of the City.
Decisions on assigning and transferring cadres to positions in departments and offices of Lao Cai city; establishing Party cells of units.
Speaking at the conference, Lao Cai City Party Secretary Giang Thi Dung affirmed that Lao Cai City has urgently made efforts to complete the review, arrangement, and reorganization of a number of departments, professional offices, and public service units.
Accordingly, the city has reduced 5 agencies and units; reduced 7 grassroots party organizations under the City Party Committee; ended the operation of 6 steering committees and the City Cadre Health Care and Protection Board.
This is a strategic step to build an increasingly clean and strong Party organization, ensuring a focused and unified leadership, meeting the requirements of tasks in the new period.
For newly merged and established agencies and units, Ms. Giang Thi Dung requested that they should soon stabilize their organization and operation, ensuring that the implementation of tasks is not delayed or interrupted. Do a good job of ideological work, create consensus among cadres, civil servants and public employees to achieve high results in implementing assigned tasks.
