On the morning of August 27, the People's Council of Kien Giang province held the 25th session (thematic session) to review staff work and a number of contents under the jurisdiction of the Provincial People's Council. At the meeting, delegates voted to elect the position of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
With a result of more than 86% of the votes, Mr. Giang Thanh Khoa - Director of the Department of Planning and Investment was elected to hold the position of Vice Chairman of Kien Giang People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.
Mr. Giang Thanh Khoa (born in 1974, hometown of Vinh Thuan district, Kien Giang province), has a Master's degree in construction and is a senior in politics. Before holding the position of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Khoa held positions such as: In 2011 - 2017, Deputy Director of the Department of Transport; March 2017 - 2019 as Chairman of Kien Luong District People's Committee; 2019 - March 2022 is Secretary of Kien Luong District Party Committee; April 2022 - August 27, 2024 as Director of Department of Planning and Investment.
Also at this meeting, the People's Council of Kien Giang province also dismissed Mr. Tran Minh Khoa - former Director of the Department of Finance - as a member of the Provincial People's Committee due to taking on other tasks. At the same time, elected Provincial People's Committee member for Mr. Nguyen Thong Nhat - Director of the Department of Finance.
In addition, the People's Council of Kien Giang province also passed many important resolutions in adjusting public investment capital in important projects in the province's socio-economic development.
