On the morning of February 26, the National Election Council organized a national online conference to deploy the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term.
Reporting at the conference, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security - said that the ministry has strictly implemented the Politburo's directive on leading the election and the guiding regulations of the National Election Council and the Prime Minister.
Accordingly, the ministry issued Directives and related documents, deployed 50 key tasks, and clearly assigned responsibilities to each unit and locality to organize the implementation of assigned tasks.

Regarding the deployment of information technology applications to serve election organization, according to the Deputy Minister of Public Security, the Ministry has issued regulations on the exploitation and use of the National Population Database and VNeID in compiling voter lists, printing voter cards, deploying voter management software, and coordinating training for localities nationwide on election work.
To date, 3,220/3,321 commune, ward, and special zone units have applied software to the voter listing work (excluding Hoang Sa special zone). The units have distributed voters to polling areas on the software system for over 78.5 million eligible voters, reaching a rate of 99.48%.
The Ministry of Public Security has closely coordinated with the National Assembly Office to deploy the connection of the election information page with the electronic identification and authentication system, integrated and logged in with a VNeID account from December 17, 2025, to date there have been over 220,000 logins.
At the same time, the election information page has been connected to the National Population Database so that candidates can automatically exploit information to fill in declaration forms, and so far more than 441,000 exploitation requests have been received.
The Ministry has built a function to synchronize candidate information to publicly display on the VNeID application.
The Ministry of Public Security has also issued guidelines on the process of issuing certificates for voters to participate in voting elsewhere electronically and complete the development of voting features elsewhere on VNeID.
