Hue merges the Department of Culture and Sports with the Department of Tourism

Hue City People's Council agreed to merge the Department of Culture and Sports with the Department of Tourism, establishing the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

On the afternoon of August 20, Hue City People's Council, term IX, 2026 - 2031, held the 3rd thematic session, considering many contents on organizational structure, resource allocation, land and social security policies.

Notably, the resolution establishing the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hue City was approved by 48/48 delegates present.

The new Department was established on the basis of the original merger of the Department of Culture and Sports and the Department of Tourism of Hue City. After arrangement, the number of specialized agencies under Hue City People's Committee is 13 units, a reduction of 1 unit.

According to the Hue City People's Council, the merger aims to unify state management focal points in the fields of culture, sports and tourism, while better promoting the strengths of heritage, culture and unique tourism of the locality.

After the resolution is passed, Hue City People's Committee will stipulate the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, ensuring no overlap and no missing functions.

The city will also continue to review and arrange the internal apparatus, including arranging and resolving the surplus number of deputy heads according to regulations.

Along with the above content, the session also passed resolutions on the level of spending on longevity gifts, longevity celebrations for the elderly; changing the purpose of using forests to implement the project to embellish the road to the top of Kim Phung mountain and the level of support for people assigned to drug prevention and control tasks.
