The Standing Committee of the National Assembly issued Resolution No. 1104/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the arrangement of administrative units at district and commune levels for the 2023-2025 period of Nam Dinh province .
Implementing Resolution 1104/NQ-UBTVQH15, many commune-level administrative units in districts of Nam Dinh have been reorganized. One of the districts that has reorganized the most communes is the coastal district of Hai Hau.
Accordingly, the entire natural area of 4.08 km2, population of 7,765 people of Hai Bac commune and the entire natural area of 4.97 km2, population of 8,505 people of Hai Phuong commune will be merged into Yen Dinh town. After the merger, Yen Dinh town has a natural area of 10.82 km2 and a population of 23,244 people.
Merge the entire natural area of 3.47 km2, population of 6,279 people of Hai Chinh commune and the entire natural area of 5.94 km2, population of 12,773 people of Hai Ly commune into Con town. After merging, Con town has a natural area of 11.58 km2 and a population of 27,896 people.
Merge the entire natural area of 4.06 km2, population of 7,479 people of Hai Ha commune and the entire natural area of 4.90 km2, population of 7,514 people of Hai Thanh commune into Hai Hung commune. After merging, Hai Hung commune has a natural area of 15.03 km2 and a population of 28,205 people.
Merge the entire natural area of 2.91 km2, population of 6,039 people of Hai Trieu commune and the entire natural area of 6.77 km2, population of 7,538 people of Hai Cuong commune into Hai Xuan commune. After merging, Hai Xuan commune has a natural area of 15.12 km2 and a population of 23,263 people.
Merge the entire natural area of 3.19 km2, population of 11,566 people of Hai Van commune and the entire natural area of 6.74 km2, population of 7,556 people of Hai Phuc commune into Hai Nam commune. After merging, Hai Nam commune has a natural area of 17.67 km2 and a population of 28,436 people.
After the arrangement, Hai Hau district has 24 commune-level administrative units, including 21 communes and 03 towns (reduced by 10 communes).
According to Lao Dong reporters, communes and towns of Hai Hau district have organized meetings of the People's Councils of communes and towns for the 2021-2026 term to complete the new government apparatus according to regulations and officially come into operation from September 1, 2024 in accordance with the spirit of Resolution No. 1104/NQ-UBTVQH15 dated July 23, 2024 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of district and commune-level administrative units for the 2023-2025 period of Nam Dinh province.
