On July 21, Politburo Member, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc signed a telegram from the Prime Minister to Ministers of the Ministries: Public Security, Construction; Chairmen of People's Committees of provinces and cities: Dong Nai, Khanh Hoa directing the overcoming of the consequences of particularly serious traffic accidents (TNGT) in Dong Nai City.
According to information reported by the Traffic Police Department (Ministry of Public Security), at 2:00 AM on July 21, a particularly serious traffic accident occurred at Km1839 on National Highway 1A, in Hung Thinh commune, Dong Nai city, caused by a passenger car with license plate 50E-447. 02 (car owner is Nam Lu Trading and Transport Co., Ltd., Khanh Hoa province) being burned.
The consequence was 7 deaths and many injuries; the initial cause was that the driver was sleepy, lost control of speed and crashed into a taluy.
Immediately upon receiving information about the accident, the Prime Minister directed to send condolences to the injured and express deep condolences to the relatives and families of the deceased victims; and at the same time directed the leaders of Dong Nai City People's Committee and the police and medical forces to the scene to overcome the consequences of the accident.
To promptly overcome the consequences of the above accident and prevent similar traffic accidents, the Prime Minister requests:
Chairman of Dong Nai City People's Committee directs functional agencies and units to immediately arrange all medical and medicine conditions to rescue victims, minimize loss of life and property of people; organize visits, support and encourage victims and families of victims who died in the accident;
Inspecting the implementation of the Prime Minister's direction in Official Dispatch No. 48/CD-TTg dated July 17 related to the implementation of solutions to ensure traffic order and safety after a particularly serious traffic accident on the Phap Van - Cau Gie - Cao Bo - Mai Son - National Highway 45 - Nghi Son expressway, in Chuong Duong commune, Hanoi City.
On that basis, review the responsibilities of relevant collectives and individuals if they are slow to implement the Prime Minister's direction, leading to the above-mentioned accident due to similar causes.
Coordinate with the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province to direct the inspection and review of the compliance with legal regulations on road transport activities of transport business units, vehicle owners, and drivers for cars in the above-mentioned accident.
Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee directed to inspect and review the compliance with the provisions of law on road transport activities of transport business units, vehicle owners, and drivers in the above-mentioned accident, especially inspecting the safety conditions of vehicles, drivers' continuous driving time, patrol, control and handling of violations on local roads... ; strictly handle violations in accordance with the law.
The Ministry of Public Security directs the Police of units and localities to urgently investigate the cause of the accident to strictly handle according to the provisions of law for drivers, vehicle owners, and transport business enterprises in the above-mentioned accident.
Ministers of Public Security and Construction continued to implement the Prime Minister's direction in Official Dispatch No. 48/CD-TTg related to the implementation of solutions to ensure traffic order and safety after the particularly serious traffic accident on the Phap Van - Cau Gie - Cao Bo - Mai Son - National Highway 45 - Nghi Son expressway, located in Chuong Duong commune, Hanoi city.
Note to tighten passenger and cargo transport activities with large volumes, especially vehicles operating at night, and have strict handling measures according to the provisions of law for violations, to prevent similar accidents from occurring.
