According to information from the Vietnam Register, the vehicle with license plate 50E-447. 02 is owned by Nam Lu Transportation Trading and Service Co., Ltd. (address in Tan Son ward, Ho Chi Minh City).
This is a 24-seater sleeper passenger car line, manufactured in Vietnam in 2026. The car was registered and inspected for the first time on January 28, 2026, the inspection period is until January 27, 2028.
According to the registration dossier, the vehicle uses a diesel engine with a capacity of 10,979cm3, maximum power of 301kW at 1,900 rpm.
Previously, at about 10 pm on July 20, driver Tran Thanh H. (born 1985, residing in Khanh Hoa province) was driving the above-mentioned passenger car on National Highway 1 in the direction from Khanh Hoa to Ho Chi Minh City.
At more than 2 am on July 21, when reaching Km1839 (section passing through Hung Thinh hamlet, Hung Thinh commune, Dong Nai city), the car suddenly collided strongly with the right embankment of the road, then continued to crash into another embankment and then stopped.
The strong collision caused the fire to flaunt fiercely from the undercarriage area, then quickly engulfed the entire vehicle.
The fire happened too quickly, killing 7 people and injuring 5 others.
Immediately after receiving the news, Dong Nai City Police and functional forces were present at the scene to put out the fire, deploy rescue work and organize traffic diversion.
Currently, the cause of this particularly serious accident is being further investigated and clarified by functional agencies.
