On December 19, at the Vietnam Military History Museum, the Ministry of National Defense held an inauguration ceremony for the International Symbol of Solidarity, Friendship and gratitude Area.
Attending the ceremony were members of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of National Defense: Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission; Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang.
Also attending were representatives of leaders of a number of central departments, ministries and branches; leaders of Hanoi City; representatives of leaders of embassies, Consulates, Defense dependents of the Russian Federation, Belarus, China, Cuba, Laos, Cambodia, Heads of a number of related units under the Ministry of National Defense.
This is a project to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the National Resistance War (December 19, 1946 - December 19, 2025), the 81st anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2025) and the 36th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2025), towards celebrating the 14th National Congress of the Party.
Speaking at the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien - Deputy Minister of National Defense - emphasized: The symbolic area was built to express the recognition, honor and deep gratitude of the Party, State, Army and people of Vietnam for the valuable support and assistance of brotherly countries and international friends in the struggle for national liberation and national reunification of Vietnam.
The project consists of 5 clusters symbolizing the solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and the Russian Federation, China, Cuba, Laos and Cambodia - countries that have given Vietnam great support and assistance, gratitude and tham tham tham in the difficult and arduous historical periods, contributing to the victory of the resistance wars for national liberation of the Vietnamese people.
The construction of the symbolic area comes from the morality of "Remembering the source when drinking water", "Remembering the growers" of the Vietnamese people; at the same time, it demonstrates the consistent viewpoint of Vietnam always attaching importance to, preserving and promoting international solidarity and friendship between peoples, for peace, independence and sustainable development of countries around the world.
The project is built within the premises of the Vietnam Military History Museum (Thang Long Avenue, Xuan Phuong Ward, Hanoi) and will be a "red address" of special significance in propaganda, education on traditional history, research, study, and meaningful community activities for all classes of people and international friends; a cultural - historical space of long-term value, contributing to spreading the message of solidarity, friendship, peace and cooperation between Vietnam and international friends.
