On April 22, the People's Committee of Kon Tum province said that the unit has requested agencies and localities to strengthen the management and handling of public assets such as houses and land.
For facilities that are no longer in use, used for the wrong purpose or ineffectively, units need to develop a handling plan and submit it to competent authorities for approval.
Assets that have been decided to be recovered must quickly develop an exploitation and use plan in accordance with regulations.
As for the remote schools that have seriously degraded and are no longer usable, the province requires the conduct of an assessment and liquidation of assets attached to the land.
The land area after handling will be handed over to local sectors and organizations for management, absolutely no encroachment will occur.
Currently, Kon Tum province has 918 schools, of which 201 are no longer in use. The review, arrangement and handling of assets must be reported to the Standing Committee and the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee before June 25, 2025.
In addition, while waiting for the merger with Quang Ngai province, Kon Tum also requested to temporarily suspend the centralized procurement of some types of assets in 2025.
Specifically, the province will not implement the centralized procurement of computers for positions and photocopy machines for agencies and units under its management.
The Provincial People's Committee emphasized the requirement for units and localities to proactively review and evaluate the status of existing assets for repair, maintenance and continued use, in order to ensure efficiency, savings and avoid wasting the state budget.
