On June 16, Mr. Y Thanh Ha Nie K dam, Secretary of Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for the implementation of the merger of Lam Dong, Binh Thuan and Dak Nong provinces (Steering Committee) issued an official dispatch to the Standing Committees of the Provincial Party Committee of the three provinces, requesting to review and complete documents and plans for personnel, headquarters, vehicles, etc.
This is to be ready to put the provincial and commune-level apparatus into operation from July 1.
Accordingly, the Steering Committee proposed that the three provinces direct Party committees and Party organizations at all levels to complete the procedures for transferring Party activities for Party members of departments, offices, agencies and units at the district level to participate in the new Party organization.
Urgently appoint People's Councils, People's Committees and leadership positions at the Party Committee, People's Councils, and People's Committees at the commune level. At the same time, complete the assignment of cadres, arrange headquarters, vehicles... of new provincial and commune-level agencies and units.
Implement the arrangement of administrative units to put provincial and commune-level administrative organizations, agencies and units into operation from July 1.
Proactively overcome, remove difficulties and obstacles and handle or advise on handling arising issues; implement payment of regimes and policies for cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers who quit their jobs due to the arrangement.
The Steering Committee requested the Standing Committees of Lam Dong, Binh Thuan, and Dak Nong Provincial Party Committees to request leaders of agencies, units, and localities not to work abroad from now until the end of July.
In special cases of going abroad for work, it is necessary to report to the competent authority for consideration according to regulations. The Steering Committee assigned the Standing Committee of Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee to preside over the development of programs and plans to organize the announcement and awarding ceremony of decisions on the merger and consolidation of Lam Dong, Binh Thuan, and Dak Nong provinces.
Establish the new Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee, appoint provincial Party Committee personnel, assign cadres to leadership positions of the People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, and the Provincial National Assembly Delegation.
According to the policy of reorganizing and reorganizing administrative units at all levels and building a model of organizing local government at both levels, Dak Nong, Binh Thuan and Lam Dong will merge into a new province called Lam Dong.
On June 12, the Resolution on the arrangement of provincial-level administrative units in 2025 was approved by the National Assembly. The published administrative map shows that the whole country has 34 units including 6 centrally-governed cities and 28 provinces.
In which, the new Lam Dong province was formed based on the arrangement of the entire natural area and population of Dak Nong, Binh Thuan and Lam Dong provinces.
After the merger, Lam Dong province has a natural area of 24,233.07km2 and a population of more than 3.8 million people.
Lam Dong province borders Dak Lak, Dong Nai, Khanh Hoa provinces, Ho Chi Minh City; Cambodia and the East Sea.
