On the morning of August 11, the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee held a conference to collect comments from senior leaders and retired City leaders on the draft Political Report submitted to the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030.
In his opening speech, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thanh Nghi said that before the policy of merging administrative units to establish Ho Chi Minh City to expand and implement the Politburo's Directive 35 on Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Congress of the Party, all three localities including Binh Duong, Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Ho Chi Minh City had been proactive and actively prepared.
Immediately after the Politburo's Directive 45 was issued, although not officially merged, the three localities agreed on the orientation, preparing one step in advance for the Congress documents.
The draft Political Report closely follows the direction of the Politburo, updates major resolutions and policies of the Central Committee such as Resolution 24, Resolution 31, Resolution 57, Resolution 59, Resolution 66... along with important directives from the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and General Secretary To Lam.
Regarding personnel work, the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee has implemented it step by step cautiously, in accordance with the process, ensuring democracy, objectivity and transparency.
At the same time, propaganda work before, during and after the Congress was urgently deployed, associated with the arrangement and streamlining of the apparatus, effectively operating the 2-level local government model.
Up to now, preparations for the Party Congress of communes and wards have been basically completed and will be completed before August 22, 2025 as planned.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi emphasized that the Political Report is a central document, requiring careful and scientific preparation, honest and comprehensive reflection of the results of the implementation of the Resolution for the 2020 - 2025 term, clearly stating the advantages, limitations, causes and drawing lessons; at the same time, determining appropriate and feasible goals, tasks and solutions for the 2025 - 2030 period.
