On October 31, the People's Council of Soc Trang province, term X, 2021-2026, held its 26th session (special session).
At the meeting, delegates voted to pass the Resolution on assigning the number of cadres, civil servants and part-time workers at the commune level in 2025 to each district-level administrative unit in the province.
According to the People's Committee of Soc Trang province, in 2024, the number of commune-level cadres and civil servants assigned to each district-level administrative unit is 2,605 people and 1,716 part-time commune-level workers. Up to now, the total number of commune-level cadres, civil servants and part-time workers assigned to the whole province is 4,321 people (currently 3,406 people are present).
In 2025, the Provincial People's Committee plans to assign 2,580 commune-level officials and civil servants in the province; the number of non-professional commune-level officials is 1,700. Compared to 2024, the number of commune-level officials and non-professional commune-level officials in the province decreased by 41 people. The reason is that the population size in some commune-level administrative units has decreased and the merger of Ward 1 and Ward 9, Soc Trang City, which took effect from September 1, 2024, has reduced Ward 9 in Soc Trang City.
The Provincial People's Committee is directing specialized agencies to urgently complete regulations and guidelines on the recruitment of cadres, civil servants and part-time workers at the commune level in the area, and submit them to the Provincial People's Committee for promulgation according to regulations, as a basis for localities to carry out recruitment.
Also at this session, delegates approved 9 draft resolutions on tuition fees for public preschool and general education institutions; Public investment capital plan; Expenditure levels for conducting statistical surveys; Decision on conducting bidding to select investors to implement investment projects in urban areas and rural residential areas in the province; Land support policies for ethnic minorities.
Speaking at the meeting, Chairwoman of the People's Council of Soc Trang province Ho Thi Cam Dao emphasized that the above Resolutions are of special importance, creating a legal basis for the Provincial People's Committee to be proactive in managing and effectively implementing the goals and tasks of socio-economic development of Soc Trang province.
The delegates also elected Mr. Lam Hoang Mau, who was recently elected as Head of the Provincial Ethnic Committee, as a member of the Soc Trang Provincial People's Committee.
