On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), on April 24, Nghe An Veterans Association held a meeting with Vietnamese heroic mothers, heavy wounded soldiers, veterans and veterans of typical volunteers who participated in the resistance against the US to save the country.
Attending the meeting were Senior Lieutenant General Be Xuan Truong - Chairman of the Vietnam Veterans Association; leaders of Nghe An province including Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Duc Trung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Nam Dinh, along with many cadres, leaders of departments, branches, sectors and outstanding policy delegates.

Speaking at the ceremony, Major General Nguyen Sy Hoi - Chairman of the Provincial Veterans Association affirmed: Nghe An is a land rich in revolutionary tradition, each contributing great contribution to the resistance wars. During the anti -American resistance war, the province mobilized nearly 20,000 people to directly fight, more than 10,000 people participated in the historic Ho Chi Minh campaign. The whole province has more than 45,000 martyrs, 56,000 wounded soldiers, nearly 3,000 Vietnamese heroic mothers are awarded and donated, currently only 30 mothers are still alive.
Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Duc Trung expressed his deep gratitude, affirming that the sacrifices of mothers, war invalids, veterans, and volunteer youth are shining examples of patriotism and strong will, and are a solid spiritual support for today's and future generations.
Behind each number is countless pain. Although the war has passed, the physical and mental pain still persists in the soldiers, mothers, wives, and martyrs' families" - the Provincial Party Secretary said emotionally.
Also at the meeting, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association presented 5 gratitude houses to veterans in difficult circumstances. The leaders of Nghe An province also presented many gifts of gratitude to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heavy War Invalids, Veterans, and outstanding youth volunteers.
The provincial leaders requested that Party committees and authorities at all levels continue to pay more attention and care for policy beneficiaries, promoting the role and experience of veterans and youth volunteers in the cause of building and defending their homeland in the new era.
