The Prime Minister proposed to study and immediately build the most direct route with a scale of 10 lanes from Hung Yen city to Thai Binh city.

On May 12, in Thai Binh province, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh worked with the Standing Committee of Thai Binh Provincial Party Committee on evaluating the results of leadership in implementing political tasks of the Thai Binh Provincial Party Congress in the first 4 months of 2025 and the 2020 - 2025 term; directions and key tasks in the coming time; giving opinions on the province's proposals and recommendations.

According to the Government Electronic Information Portal, speaking at the meeting, the Prime Minister acknowledged and commended the efforts and important results that the Party Committee, government and people of Thai Binh province have achieved in the past time.

However, according to the Prime Minister, Thai Binh province has not fully exploited its unique potential, outstanding opportunities, and competitive advantages; the economy has not had a breakthrough or breakthrough development step.

The scale of the economy is small, efficient, competitive, and the quality of growth is not high. Although total retail sales and service revenue have increased, they tend to decrease with the results of the first 4 months of 2023, 2024, and 2025 being 17.9%, 16.5%, and 16.1%, respectively.

The Prime Minister suggested that it is necessary to fully assess the different potentials, outstanding opportunities, and competitive advantages of Thai Binh, thereby having appropriate, breakthrough, and delivered solutions to achieve double-digit growth in 2025 and breakthrough development in the next 5 years.

The Prime Minister pointed out some outstanding potentials and advantages of the province such as rich historical and cultural traditions, diligent people, large labor force, natural conditions, especially the sea and the ability to reclaim land, and effectively exploit land funds.

Therefore, the Prime Minister requested to be proactive and drastic in implementing the arrangement of administrative units at all levels and building local governments at both levels.

Focus on researching, disseminating, organizing and implementing the Resolutions of the Politburo on the "four strategic ministries" resolutely and focusing on them.

Connecting the economy of Thai Binh with the Red River Delta, with the Central region, through Hai Phong - Quang Ninh connecting with China, connecting regionally, connecting internationally.

In the context of narrow land and high population, the Prime Minister directed the province to research and develop a sea encroachment plan to develop economic zones, develop industry, ports, and infrastructure; reserve the land inside to develop high-tech agriculture.

The head of the Government also requested research and effective exploitation of land; development of strategic infrastructure, in which the Ninh Binh - Hai Phong expressway section through Nam Dinh and Thai Binh must be completed in 2026.

The Prime Minister basically agreed with the proposals and recommendations of the province, including content related to the development of Thai Binh Economic Zone, requiring the development of specific projects and plans for implementation.

The Prime Minister proposed to study and immediately build the most direct route with a scale of 10 lanes from Hung Yen city to Thai Binh city, thereby connecting with the Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway, Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway, Ninh Binh - Hai Phong expressway.

The Prime Minister also agreed in principle and proposed to quickly implement the investment project to build a 1,500-bed General Hospital and the project to develop Thai Binh University of Medicine and Pharmacy into a leading University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Vietnam and move towards regional advancement, meeting international standards.
