Vietnamese talents in the US offer advice on high-tech development

On the afternoon of September 23 (local time), General Secretary and President To Lam met with members of the Vietnam Innovation Network and Vietnamese experts in the US.

The Vietnam Innovation Network under the National Innovation Center was established by the Ministry of Planning and Investment with the goal of connecting the world's leading Vietnamese science and technology experts with practical domestic needs to attract and effectively use intellectual resources to serve the country's socio-economic development.

There are now two Innovation Networks on the East and West Coasts in the US, comprising talent in technology, finance, law, management and other key areas.

According to VNA, speaking at the reception, General Secretary and President To Lam expressed his pleasure at attending and listening to the opinions and suggestions of the community of experts, intellectuals and members of the Vietnam Innovation Network in the US to carry out the common task of contributing to the development of high technology and innovation in the country; stating that this is an opportunity to look back at the results achieved and discuss upcoming directions and goals in connecting knowledge, experience and resources between Vietnam and the community of Vietnamese experts in the US.

Emphasizing that the country is facing a new historical moment, a new era, an era of national growth, the General Secretary and President said that this is also a period of important strategic opportunity, the final stage of the Vietnamese revolution to achieve the goal of 100 years under the Party's leadership, 100 years of the country's founding.

The General Secretary and President pointed out that after Vietnam and the US upgraded their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, the Joint Statement between the two countries agreed to promote cooperation in training and capacity building in semiconductors and artificial intelligence (AI) so that Vietnam can participate in the global value chain; at the same time, he emphasized that to do that, Vietnam needs to focus on building high-quality human resources to meet future development needs in the direction of digital transformation and green transformation based on innovation.

Believing that this is a field that will create major breakthroughs, helping Vietnam not only strengthen its position in the international arena but also participate more effectively in the global science and technology market, the General Secretary and President suggested that the Vietnam Innovation Network in the US continue to promote its connecting role, expand the participation of new members and enhance cooperation between Vietnamese and international experts and intellectuals, for the long-term benefits of the country, helping Vietnam move closer to the goal of development based on science, technology and innovation.

The General Secretary and President affirmed that the extensive participation of the community of Vietnamese experts and intellectuals around the world not only contributes to solving technical and technological challenges but also opens up new opportunities for extensive cooperation in science, technology, and innovation with the world's leading partners.

The General Secretary and President said that the Vietnam Innovation Network needs to build stronger international links, share knowledge and apply advanced technological advances to the country's development process; promote its role as a bridge of knowledge and technology, bringing the world's quintessence and progress to Vietnam.
