On the afternoon of September 23 in New York, USA, General Secretary and President To Lam attended a business seminar organized by the US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC), the US Chamber of Commerce (USCC) and the Business Council for Common Understanding (BCIU) in coordination with the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Vietnamese Embassy in the US.
Speaking at the seminar, General Secretary and President To Lam said that he felt the energy and enthusiasm of the US business community to jointly promote the expansion of investment cooperation activities with Vietnam in the coming time, and hoped that US businesses would continue to strive to become the largest investors in Vietnam, promote advantages, take advantage of opportunities based on an equal relationship, mutual respect and mutual benefit to match the Vietnam - US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
The General Secretary and President requested relevant ministries, branches and agencies of the two countries to continue to concretize major policies and orientations of the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership; promptly support and handle difficulties and problems of investors; and continue to implement solutions to improve the investment and business environment in an open and transparent manner.
The General Secretary and President also hopes that the US government will promote and encourage US businesses to increase investment in Vietnam, while creating conditions and continuing to support Vietnamese investors to expand their effective business investment activities, especially projects in the fields of science, technology and innovation.
The General Secretary and President hopes that US investors will research and expand investment in sectors and fields such as science and technology, innovation, research and development; green economy, digital economy, circular economy, knowledge economy; development of chip industry, semiconductor, artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT); new energy, renewable energy; finance, financial centers; biotechnology, healthcare...
The General Secretary and President also hopes that US investors will continue to support the US Government to soon recognize Vietnam as a market economy, thereby creating favorable conditions for businesses from both sides to cooperate in investment and business.
On this occasion, the General Secretary and President witnessed the handover ceremony of documents signed between Vietnamese and American businesses.
According to VNA, the signed documents include: Cooperation agreement on energy conversion and technology transfer research in the energy sector between the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PVN) and Kellogg Brown & Root Company;
Memorandum of Understanding on research and provision of software solutions in the electricity and oil and gas industry between PVN and GE Group;
Cooperation agreement in the field of liquefied natural gas (LNG) between Vietnam Petroleum Services Joint Stock Company (PTSC) and Excelerate Energy Company;
Memorandum of Understanding in the fields of AI, semiconductors and data center construction in Vietnam between Sovico Group and SuperMicro Group;
Cooperation agreement in the aviation sector between Vietjet Air and Honeywell Company;
Cooperation agreement in the field of natural gas production between Wealth Power Group Vietnam and representative of Eternal Natural Resources Company.
