In the past few days, storm No. 3 (also known as storm Yagi) with very strong intensity has swept into the northern provinces of our country. Although the Party, the State, all levels and sectors have directed strongly, agencies, units, forces, especially the army, police and the people have deployed many synchronous measures to prevent the storm, however, with super strong winds, the storm and the post-storm circulation have caused great devastation, leaving extremely serious consequences.
According to statistics from authorities as of this morning, the impact of storm No. 3 as well as floods and landslides in some localities has left 200 people dead and missing; 760 people injured.
In the areas where the storm passed, tens of thousands of houses collapsed, toppled, had their roofs blown off, and were severely damaged. Many traffic routes, schools, medical facilities, and public works were severely damaged. The estimated damage caused by storm No. 3 is up to tens of thousands of billions of VND.
Besides, currently, in some localities such as Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, Lang Son... people's lives are seriously affected by floods. More than ever, people in areas affected by natural disasters and floods are in dire need of attention and relief from all levels, sectors and the whole society.
With the spirit of “mutual love”, “the rich help the poor”, in order to contribute more resources to support people to overcome the damage caused by storm No. 3, the leaders of the Central Propaganda Department called on all cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers of the Propaganda Department to actively respond to the call of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; join hands to contribute spiritually and materially to help people in provinces affected by storms and floods overcome difficulties.
At the launching ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia - Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of Central Propaganda - together with leaders of the Committee and cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers of the Central Propaganda Department participated in supporting with a total donation of 200 million VND sent to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
Also on the morning of September 11, in Hanoi, the Party Committee of the Central Agencies Bloc launched a fundraising campaign to support people in overcoming the consequences of storm No. 3.
Mr. Nguyen Van The - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Bloc - together with all leaders, civil servants and officials of the Party Committee of the Bloc attended and supported.
The entire amount of more than 100 million VND will be transferred to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for coordination and timely transfer to localities to help people overcome the consequences of storms and floods.
