On the afternoon of September 10, in Hanoi, the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) held a ceremony to launch a campaign to support people affected by storm No. 3.
Here, General Secretary and President To Lam, along with leaders of the Party, State, and agencies, directly supported the people.
At the launching ceremony, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien emphasized that in recent days, storm No. 3 (also known as super storm Yagi ) with very strong intensity has swept into the northern provinces of our country, causing heavy damage to people and property.
In times of hardship, Party committees at all levels, authorities, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front mobilized thousands of military and police officers, soldiers, union members, youth, and communities to promptly help, evacuate, rescue, and protect people's lives and property.
Mr. Do Van Chien emphasized that the storm left behind very serious consequences. The Party and State have and will devote resources to restoring infrastructure, supporting reproduction, and ensuring people's lives.
The Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front earnestly calls on compatriots and soldiers nationwide, our compatriots abroad... to share and provide spiritual and material support, contributing together with the Party and State to quickly restore production and people's lives.
The general level of effort is: cadres, civil servants, public employees, soldiers of the armed forces, those receiving salaries from the state budget, each person should contribute one day's salary or more; workers should contribute one day's income; union members, youth, households with average or higher living standards should save on spending and donate 50,000-100,000 VND.
The Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Central Relief Mobilization Committee pledge to use the donated funds for the right purposes, effectively, and transparently.
At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang - Member of the Party Central Committee, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor presented a plaque of support worth 5 billion VND.
At the launching ceremony, organizations and individuals donated 407 billion VND to help people affected by storm No. 3.
On the afternoon of September 10, the Government Office organized a donation drive to support local people in overcoming the consequences of storm No. 3.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, together with leaders, officials, civil servants, public employees, and workers of the Government Office, participated in donating to support people affected by storm No. 3, responding to the launching ceremony of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee to support people.
