The Politburo decided that Mr. Do Thanh Binh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Organization Committee, Member of the Standing Committee of the Government Party Committee, will no longer participate in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee of the Government Party Committee, and will no longer hold the position of Deputy Head of the Central Organization Committee and related titles.
At the same time, transferring, assigning, and appointing Mr. Do Thanh Binh to participate in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, holding the position of Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term and appointing him to participate in the Party Committee of Military Region 9.

Mr. Do Thanh Binh grew up from the grassroots level, having held many positions in Kien Giang (old) such as: Secretary of the District Youth Union, Chairman of the District People's Committee, Secretary of Vinh Thuan District Party Committee; Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Provincial Party Secretary.
In January 2025, Mr. Do Thanh Binh was transferred and appointed by the Politburo to hold the position of Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term. After Can Tho City merged with Hau Giang and Soc Trang provinces, Mr. Do Thanh Binh was appointed by the Politburo and the Secretariat to hold the position of Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee (new).
In September 2025, the Prime Minister issued a Decision to receive and appoint him to the position of Standing Deputy Minister of Home Affairs.
In October 2025, at the Tenth Session, the 15th National Assembly, the National Assembly passed a Resolution approving the Prime Minister's proposal on the appointment of Minister of Home Affairs for the 2021-2026 term for Mr. Do Thanh Binh.
