On March 31, at the First Session, the 16th Lai Chau Provincial People's Council for the 2026-2031 term held elections for the positions of: Chairman, Vice Chairman and members of the Provincial People's Committee.
Specifically, Mr. Ha Quang Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee of the XV term, 2021-2026, continued to be trusted to be elected to hold the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee of the XVI term, 2026-2031 with a high number of votes.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee includes Mr. Tong Thanh Hai, Ha Trong Hai and Nguyen Si Canh.
100% of delegates also unanimously elected 14 members of the Provincial People's Committee, term 2026-2031.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Ha Quang Trung thanked the trust and confidence of the Provincial People's Council and the delegates of the Provincial People's Council.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed that resources will be focused on developing a synchronous and modern socio-economic infrastructure system. In which, priority is given to inter-regional transport infrastructure, border gate infrastructure and digital infrastructure, in order to create an important foundation for rapid and sustainable development.
The province will continue to pay attention to investing in cultural and social fields, improving the quality of education, healthcare, and people's health care. Effectively implement social security policies and sustainable poverty reduction.
