On December 14, 2025, at the D1 Hall, Headquarters of the Banking Academy, the Vietnam - UK Friendship Association held the 5th National Congress of Delegates, term 2025-2030.
The Congress aims to evaluate the results of activities for the 2019-2025 term, through the new term direction, perfect the organizational apparatus and set the goal of strengthening the friendship and cooperation between the people of Vietnam and the UK in the new period. The Congress elected 45 members of the Executive Committee of the 5th tenure and 3 members of the Inspection Committee of the 5th tenure.
At the first meeting of the Executive Committee of the 5th tenure, the Association elected: Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Canh, Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, to hold the position of Chairman of the Vietnam - England Friendship Association, 5th tenure; 4 Vice Chairmen of the Association according to the personnel plan approved by the Congress; Ms. Pham Thi Hoang Anh was elected General Secretary of the Association; Mr. Tran Ba Viet Dung was elected to hold the position of Head of the Inspection Committee of the 5th tenure; the Standing Committee consists of 15 members.

In his inauguration speech, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Canh, Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, Chairman of the Vietnam - England Friendship Association, course V affirmed his efforts to innovate the Association's activities in an effective direction, expand cooperation, connect the business community - education - culture, and deepen the Vietnam - England friendship.
"I am clearly aware that the success of the Association does not come from individual efforts, but is the result of the solidarity, responsibility and dedication of the entire Standing Committee, Executive Committee, local branches, at organizations and all members.
I pledge to always listen, dialogue and accompany; to act proactively, resolutely and effectively; and to always put the interests of the people of the two countries at the center of all activities of the Association - in accordance with the spirit that General Secretary To Lam affirmed: cooperation must be for people, for people and spread to all classes of society" - he said.

The Congress heard the announcement of the decision to reward the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations for the collectives and individuals of the Vietnam - UK Friendship Association for their contributions in the past term. The Congress voted 100% to pass the Resolution of the 5th Congress, clearly defining the key goals and tasks for the 2025-2030 period.


The 5th National Congress of the Vietnam - UK Friendship Association, term 2025 - 2020, was a great success, demonstrating the spirit of "Solidarity - Proactiveness - Modernity - Efficiency". The Association will concretize the resolution into practical action programs, continuing to contribute to strengthening the friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and the UK.
