On the morning of March 30, the 11th Ho Chi Minh City People's Council, term 2026 - 2031, held the first meeting to consolidate the key personnel apparatus of the City People's Council and People's Committee and elect People's Assessors of the People's Court according to regulations.
At the meeting, with a majority of votes in favor, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council elected Nguyen Van Duoc - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for the term 2021 - 2026 to continue to hold the position of Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for the term 2026 - 2031.
Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc was born in 1968, from Long An province (now Tay Ninh province), with a Master of Geology and Bachelor of Geology degree.
Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc is an official who grew up from the grassroots level in the field of land, having held many important positions in Long An province before: Vice Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of Long An Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of Long An Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Council.
From February 2025 to now, Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc has held the position of Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.
Currently, Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc is a member of the 14th Party Central Committee, a delegate to the 11th Ho Chi Minh City People's Council, term 2026 - 2031.
