Mr. Nguyen Van Quyet holds the position of Secretary of the new Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee

The newly announced Tay Ninh province has officially announced the Resolution to merge with Long An, perfecting the apparatus and personnel, officially operating from July 1, 2025.

On the morning of June 30, Tay Ninh province held a ceremony to announce the Resolutions and Decisions of the Central and local governments related to the merger of provincial and commune-level administrative units, as well as officially end district-level administrative activities after the merger of Tay Ninh and Long An provinces.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Le Quang Huy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Science, Technology and Environment, representative of the Central Working Group, who announced important Resolutions and Decisions of the Central Committee on the reorganization of administrative units in the area.

The new Tay Ninh province was established on the basis of merging the two provinces of Tay Ninh and Long An, with a total of 82 communes and 14 wards. At the same time, the operation of district-level authorities according to the old administrative boundaries officially ended from July 1, 2025.

Regarding the work of organizing cadres, according to the decision of the Central Government and the Prime Minister:

Mr. Nguyen Van Quyet, Secretary of the Long An Provincial Party Committee, was appointed to hold the position of Secretary of the new Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

Mr. Nguyen Van Ut, Chairman of the old Long An Provincial People's Committee, was appointed to hold the position of Chairman of the Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee after the merger.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Secretary of the Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee before the merger, was assigned to hold the position of Chairman of the new Tay Ninh Provincial People's Council.

Along with that, according to Decision No. 1310/QD-TTg, the Prime Minister appointed 5 Vice Chairmen of the People's Committee of Tay Ninh province for the new term 2021-2026, including:

Mr. Nguyen Hong Thanh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee, Acting Chairman of the People's Committee of the old Tay Ninh province.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Lam - Member of the Standing Committee of the Long An Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the old Long An Provincial People's Committee.

Mr. Doan Trung Kien - Member of the Standing Committee of the Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of the old Tay Ninh province.

Mr. Pham Tan Hoa - Member of the Executive Committee of the Long An Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the former Long An Provincial People's Committee.

Mr. Huynh Van Son - Member of the Executive Committee of the Long An Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the former Long An Provincial People's Committee.

All of the above decisions take effect from July 1, 2025, marking an important step in perfecting the government and administrative organization apparatus in the new Tay Ninh province after the merger.
