On the morning of March 28, the Hanoi City People's Council held the 1st session of the 17th Hanoi City People's Council to consider and decide on contents under its authority.
At the meeting, the City People's Council elected the Chairman of Hanoi City People's Committee, Vice Chairmen, and members of the City People's Committee for the term 2026 - 2031.
With the majority of delegates in favor, the Hanoi City People's Council elected Mr. Vu Dai Thang - Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee for the term 2025-2030 as Chairman of the Hanoi City People's Committee for the term 2026-2031.
Previously, on November 28, 2025, the Hanoi Party Committee held a conference to announce the Politburo's decision on personnel work. According to the decision, Mr. Vu Dai Thang - Secretary of Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee - was transferred, assigned, and appointed by the Politburo to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee of the XVIII term, 2025-2030. In the afternoon of the same day, the Hanoi People's Council elected Mr. Vu Dai Thang to hold the position of Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.
On the morning of March 28, Hanoi City People's Council also unanimously elected the positions of Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee for the 2026-2031 term, including:
1. Mr. Duong Duc Tuan - elected to hold the position of Vice Chairman of Hanoi City People's Committee for the term 2026 - 2031.
2. Ms. Vu Thu Ha - elected to hold the position of Vice Chairman of Hanoi City People's Committee for the term 2026 - 2031.
3. Mr. Nguyen Xuan Luu - elected to hold the position of Vice Chairman of Hanoi City People's Committee for the term 2026 - 2031.
4. Mr. Truong Viet Dung - elected to hold the position of Vice Chairman of Hanoi City People's Committee for the term 2026 - 2031.
