Launching the national mobilization program to support the people of Cuba

Mr. Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, Central organizations, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front attended and spoke at the National Launching Ceremony of the Campaign to Support the Cuban People with the theme "65 years of Vietnam - Cuba".

The campaign program to support the Cuban people with the theme "65 years of Vietnam - Cuba's affection" chaired by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, in coordination with the Central ministries, departments, branches and organizations, on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cuba (1960 - 2025) and on the occasion of the 99th anniversary of the birth of leader Fidel Castro, has spread a strong message of sharing, empathy and international solidarity between the two countries of Vietnam and Cuba.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, Central organizations, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front expressed his joy and emotion, saying that this is a political and social event of profound foreign significance on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Republic of Cuba (December 2, 1990 - December 2, 2025), demonstrating the consistent affection of the Party, State and people of Vietnam for the Cuban people on the path of national independence and socialism.

President Do Van Chien stated that over the past 65 years, the Vietnam - Cuba relationship has become a model of pure, loyal and strong international solidarity. Despite being half a world apart, the people of the two countries are always shoulder to shoulder, standing side by side, supporting each other even when favorable and especially in difficult and challenging times. The immortal words of leader Fidel Castro: For Vietnam, Cuba is ready to sacrifice its blood are not only a promise, but have become a vivid reality throughout the journey of fighting for independence, building and defending the Fatherland of the Vietnamese people. On the contrary, the Vietnamese people always attach attention, sharing and unconditional support to the Cuban people.

According to Chairman Do Van Chien, organizing the Cuban People's Support Campaign Program has profound humanitarian significance. This is an act demonstrating the tradition of humanity of the Vietnamese people; a vivid testament to the loyal, pure, and close relationship between the two peoples of Vietnam and Cuba.

The program not only aims to provide material support, helping Cuba overcome immediate difficulties, but also spreads a strong message of international sharing, empathy and solidarity, affirming that in any circumstances, the Vietnamese people are always on the shoulder and side with the Cuban people. This is a continuation of the 65-year tradition of affection, where brotherhood has overcome all geographical distances and economic conditions to become a sustainable spiritual value.

With that meaning, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front has agreed to let the Vietnam Red Cross Society preside over and coordinate with economic organizations, socio-political organizations, and people's organizations to mobilize the strength of national solidarity, calling on all classes of Vietnamese people to provide material and spiritual support towards the brotherly people of Cuba. Call on all levels, sectors, member organizations of the Front, the business community, individuals in the country and foreigners working and living in Vietnam to take practical actions, helping them overcome difficulties, stabilize their lives, and continue to develop the country along the socialist path chosen by the Cuban Party and people.

Affirming that the Vietnam - Cuba solidarity is an invaluable asset of the two peoples, President Do Van Chien shared that at today's launching ceremony, we will continue to write new pages of that friendship through concrete actions, so that each Cuban person can clearly feel that, despite the long geographical distance, Vietnam is always loyal, affectionate, and ready to share with our brothers and sisters in Cuba.

We also hope that the Program will become a profound educational activity in the community, especially for the younger generation - this is an opportunity to learn and absorb the noble values of international friendship that will last forever in a turbulent world, so that those values will continue and spread to the future - Chairman Do Van Chien emphasized and on behalf of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, respectfully thanked the delegates, international friends, agencies, organizations and people nationwide who have responded to the Program and wished a special, loyal and pure friendship for Cuba to last forever, green and beautiful.

Informing at the program, Mr. Nguyen Hai Anh, Vice President and General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, said that the campaign program will be held for 65 days, starting from August 13 to October 16, 2025, with the goal of mobilizing a minimum of 65 billion VND to support the Cuban people in food, necessities and sustainable humanitarian activities.

During the 65 days of the program, organizations, individuals, people and organizations can participate by donating funds in many forms: Contributes from cadres, members, union members, and workers at agencies, organizations, schools and communities; mobilizing support from domestic and foreign enterprises and organizations.

In addition, receive contributions through many direct and online channels at the Central Association's agency, scan the transfer QR code, donation boxes in public places, mobile applications (Three-way App, Viettel Money), electronic news site of the Vietnam Red Cross Society; organize creative emulation movements in schools such as: Writing letters, donating "small plans" to support children in Cuba...
