On August 8, Prof. Dr. Thai Van Thanh - Director of Nghe An Department of Education and Training - led a working group of the provincial education sector to the mountainous communes of the West to present gifts to support schools, cadres, teachers and staff who suffered heavy losses due to floods.
At the schools that were heavily affected such as Muong Tap, Ta Ca, Bac Ly, My Ly... The Department's Director directly visited, encouraged, shared the difficulties, and presented cash support to schools and teachers.

Speaking at the gift-giving ceremony, Prof. Dr. Thai Van Thanh emphasized: Today's gifts are not only material support, but also the heart and affection of the entire Nghe An Education sector to teachers and students in flooded areas. Hopefully, this sharing will help teachers soon stabilize their lives, students have the opportunity to return to school, so that the school drum sound will resound loudly in the new school year.
According to the Nghe An Department of Education and Training, the recent flood caused particularly serious damage to the provincial education sector, with more than 50 schools flooded; many equipment, teaching aids, boarding aids, books, and records were swept away; the total damage is estimated at hundreds of billions of VND. Many teachers and school staff lost their homes and assets, greatly affecting their lives and teaching work.
Nghe An Department of Education and Training has established many working groups to inspect and provide support to schools and teachers who suffered losses with a total amount of 1 billion 086 million VND.
Of which, 675 million VND was supported for schools with damaged houses and 411 million VND for cadres, teachers, and employees whose houses were flooded or had their assets washed away.
