On May 27, in Hanoi, Mr. Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Vietnam Rogelio Polanco Fuentes.

On behalf of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Mr. Do Van Chien congratulated Mr. Rogelio Polanco Fuentes on his appointment as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Vietnam on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and the year of Vietnam - Cuba friendship.

Mr. Do Van Chien expressed his delight at seeing the friendly and cooperative relationship between the two countries being nurtured and developed by generations of veteran leaders. The Party, State and people of Vietnam always remember Cuba's sincere and wholehearted support both materially and spiritually for Vietnam in the resistance war for national independence and in the process of building and developing the country today.

President Do Van Chien said that in September 2024, General Secretary and President To Lam paid a state visit to Cuba. The visit has marked an important milestone for bilateral relations, especially deepening political relations, strengthening trust; and at the same time opening up new directions in bilateral economic, trade and investment cooperation. After the visit, Comrade To Lam gave specific instructions to coordinate with Cuba to solve difficulties in food production and energy security.

President Do Van Chien affirmed that Vietnam is ready to share experiences and accompany and support Cuba in areas that Cuba needs such as food production and renewable energy. The President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front believes that under the wise and correct leadership of the Communist Party of Cuba, Cuba will continue to achieve many new achievements on the path to building socialism.

Discussing cooperation between the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Cuban Revolutionary Protection Committee, Chairman Do Van Chien affirmed that the Vietnam Fatherland Front always attaches importance to and continues to maintain the good traditional cooperative relationship with the Cuban Revolutionary Protection Committee.

From the content of the cooperation agreement between the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and the Cuban Revolutionary Protection Committee for the period of 2023-2028, the two sides are committed to implementing union exchange activities, exchanging experiences to close the relationship between the two countries and the people of the two countries, especially education for young generation to master the good relationship between the two countries; At the same time, promoting the exchange and mobilization of sectors, levels and people of all classes to actively implement effectively and practically in the fields of economic, trade, investment, agriculture, health, energy, ...

President Do Van Chien expressed his confidence that during his term in Vietnam, the Ambassador will work with relevant agencies to promote cooperation activities to contribute to the development of the Vietnam-Cuba relationship in more depth and substantially; and at the same time, be a bridge to promote the traditional cooperative relationship between the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and the Cuban Revolutionary Protection Committee.

Mr. Rogelio Polanco Fuentes emphasized that the special relationship between Vietnam and Cuba was built by President Ho Chi Minh and leader Fidel Castro, and has been nurtured by generations of leaders and people of the two countries.

Thanking Vietnam for its noble gestures in recent times, Ambassador Rogelio Polanco Fuentes affirmed that this assistance demonstrates the good relationship between the two countries, especially this year, the Vietnam - Korea Friendship Year.

Ambassador Rogelio Polanco Fuentes affirmed that during his term of office, he will continue to support and promote the cooperative relationship between the Cuban Revolutionary Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, thereby contributing to consolidating and tightening the special traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Cuba and Vietnam.
