Taking care of social security, supporting people and children in difficult circumstances
On the afternoon of April 29, a delegation of Party and State leaders led by Ms. Vo Thi Anh Xuan - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Vice President of the country visited Dong Thap province to visit and give gifts to policy families, poor households, workers and students in difficult circumstances... on the occasion of April 30th, the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South, national reunification; International Labor Day (May 1).
Also attending were Mr. Nguyen Dung Tien - Deputy Head of the Presidential Office; Ms. Do Hong Van - Member of the Presidium, Deputy Head of the Labor Relations Department, Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Deputy Head of the Social Work Department, Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front...

Receiving and working with the working delegation were Mr. Ngo Chi Cuong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Dong Thap province and representatives of leaders of the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.
Before starting the working session, Ms. Vo Thi Anh Xuan and the working delegation visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mother Huynh Thi Chinh (born in 1936, residing in My Ngai ward). Mother has a husband and son who are martyrs, currently living with their grandchild.

Here, the Vice President cordially inquired and wished Mother a long life and good health, and at the same time expressed the deep gratitude of the Party and State for the family's sacrifices and great contributions to the cause of national liberation.
Next, the working delegation awarded 200 scholarships from the Vietnam Children's Fund Sponsorship Council to children in difficult circumstances in Dong Thap province, to encourage them to rise up in their studies. At the same time, they presented 200 gifts to policy households, poor households, workers and an additional 200 scholarships to poor students with good academic achievements.

Taking people as the center, the driving force for development
At the working session, the Vice President emphasized that, besides resources in land and material assets, localities need to pay special attention to effectively exploiting human resources, both in the political system and among the people. Promoting intelligence, spirit of responsibility and social consensus will create a new impetus for socio-economic development.

Regarding specific orientations, the Vice President requested the province to comprehensively review existing resources, from land and assets to social capital and human resources in the population, thereby unblocking "bottlenecks", creating conditions to attract investment and promote production and business.
In particular, the Vice President emphasized the goal of building Dong Thap into a "livable place" with specific criteria, bringing a warm and happy life to the people, while preserving and promoting the good values of Vietnamese people such as kindness, solidarity, and affection.

The Vice President also requested the provincial leadership team, policy families and people with meritorious services to continue to promote the core role, being an important spiritual support to mobilize all classes of people, especially the young generation, to continue the tradition, join hands to build an increasingly rich and beautiful, civilized homeland.

Emphasizing that 2026 is a pivotal year for implementing the political tasks of the 2025-2030 term, the Vice President requested the province to continue to improve the political system; and at the same time, summarize and evaluate the two-level local government model after one year of implementation, promptly remove difficulties, towards building a government close to the people, close to the people, and serving the people more effectively.
