On the afternoon of October 7, the National Assembly Standing Committee reviewed the National Assembly's report on people's petitions in September 2024.
Reporting on this content, Head of the People's Petition Duong Thanh Binh said that voters and people highly appreciate the preparation of the National Assembly and the Government on the important contents of the program of the 8th session of the 15th National Assembly.
Voters are interested in the contents of the session's agenda, especially the National Assembly's consideration, comments and approval of draft laws with contents directly related to people's lives such as: Law on Urban and Rural Planning; Law on Notarization (amended); Law on Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue; Law on Value Added Tax (amended); Law on Electricity (amended); Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Pharmacy, etc.
Voters expect the National Assembly to make important decisions to remove difficulties, contribute to the country's socio-economic development, and stabilize and improve people's lives.
Head of People's Petition Duong Thanh Binh stated that according to feedback, social housing is sold at very high prices, making it difficult for low-income people to access.
In addition, voters are also worried about the situation of some infectious diseases such as dengue fever, hand, foot and mouth disease, measles... which are on the rise in some localities, increasing the risk of outbreaks and spreading in the community.
Meanwhile, shortages of drugs, vaccines and medical supplies still occur in some public health facilities due to difficulties in procurement bidding; serious traffic accidents occur on highways and at intersections between roads and railways.
The campaign to purchase equipment and teaching aids for schools and classrooms did not receive the consensus of parents, causing public outrage. The university admission plan also caused concern for parents and students.
Notably, in the past 3 months (from July 1, 2024), meritorious people have not yet received the increased allowance according to Decree No. 77/2024/ND-CP dated July 1, 2024. The initial application of the transitional provisions of the Land Law, the Real Estate Business Law, and the Housing Law has been difficult, causing frustration among the people...
In addition to some contents reflected by voters, the Government and the Prime Minister have issued documents directing and operating in the past time. The People's Petition Committee also recommended that the National Assembly Standing Committee request the Government and the Prime Minister to pay attention to directing some contents of current interest to voters.
It is recommended to pay attention to adjusting social housing prices or having support packages to buy social housing for low-income people, and have policies to encourage the implementation of social housing construction projects for low-income people.
