On August 9, the first Tran Lieu Ward Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030, completed all the contents and programs set out and held the closing ceremony. Speaking at the Congress, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Chuyen - Head of the City Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee emphasized that in order for Tran Lieu ward to develop into a civilized and modern urban area, right after the Congress, the Ward Party Executive Committee needs to urgently develop a specific action program and plan for each year and each month. At the same time, proactively overcome shortcomings in the operation of local governments at two levels.
The Head of the City Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee also suggested that Party committees and authorities focus on adjusting and integrating socio-economic development plans in a modern direction, strengthening regional linkages, promoting industry, trade, services, cultural tourism; developing agriculture according to the value chain and the comprehensive urban model. Along with that is mobilizing resources to invest in essential infrastructure such as transportation, irrigation, culture, education, and health.
The issues of land management, construction order, environment and urban embellishment are also identified as "bottlenecks" that need to be resolved soon. The ward needs to promote the development of the digital economy, green economy, circular economy and promote the role of the private sector, in accordance with the spirit of Resolution 68 of the Politburo. At the same time, it will enhance innovation, application of science and technology and digital transformation in socio-economic development.
The Congress passed the Resolution with the goal of effectively exploiting potential, overcoming difficulties, promoting rapid and sustainable economic development, achieving the city's overall average growth rate. The Party Committee and government build a clean, strong and efficient apparatus.
The Resolution sets out 25 targets and 7 groups of key tasks and solutions. In which, 3 breakthrough tasks were identified: Investing in facilities, improving the capacity of staff and civil servants at the Ward Public Administration Service Center; Effectively operating the political system and local government at 2 levels; Mobilizing resources to build urban infrastructure, protect the environment and effectively carry out site clearance work, implement projects in the area.
At the Congress, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee announced the decision to appoint the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, Secretary and Deputy Secretary of the Ward Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term. The Executive Committee consists of 29 comrades; the Standing Committee consists of 11 comrades. Mr. Nguyen Hong Quang - Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of the Ward People's Council holds the position of Ward Party Committee Secretary. The two Deputy Secretaries are Mr. Nguyen Van Duc (Standing Deputy Secretary) and Ms. Tran Thi Tinh (Chairman of the Ward People's Committee).
Tran Lieu ward was established on the basis of merging Hiep Hoa commune, Thuong Quan commune and An Phu ward, with a natural area of 23.87 km2, population of nearly 27,000 people. The ward Party Committee currently has 32 subordinate Party cells with 908 Party members. In the 2020 - 2025 term, the ward's economy will grow by an average of 11.2%/year, exceeding the set target.
