On March 21, the Ministry of National Defense held a conference to summarize the work of justice, inspection, legal affairs, audits and work of 1389 in 2024 and the peak period of fighting against crime and law violations before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2025, according to the Ministry of National Defense's Electronic Information Portal.
Senior General Vo Minh Luong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense, Head of the Steering Committee 1389 of the Ministry of National Defense - chaired the conference.
Accordingly, in 2024, the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense and Party committees and commanders at all levels have regularly paid attention to leading and directing judicial, inspection, legal, auditing agencies, functional forces under the Border Guard, Coast Guard to unite, promote democracy, collective intelligence, closely follow reality, successfully complete tasks according to plan and emergency tasks;
Direct the functional forces of the Border Guard and Coast Guard to proactively grasp the situation of borders and sea areas, promptly advise and propose measures to combat and prevent crimes and violations of the law on border routes, seas and islands.
The dissemination of legal education and international cooperation in the fields of justice, inspection, legal documents, crime prevention and control are increasingly receiving attention, substantial and effective.
In the past year, the Criminal Investigation Agency received and resolved 536 cases. The Border Guard force presided over and coordinated the successful fight against 119 special projects, arrested more than 7,200 cases with nearly 15,000 subjects; prosecuted and investigated 786 cases with 972 subjects.
The Coast Guard has detected more than 5,300 fishing vessels violating Vietnam's sea areas; detected, arrested, and handled nearly 1,700 cases with more than 2,200 criminals and violators at sea and in coastal areas.
Thereby, effectively implementing propaganda, prevention and control of illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing violations. Command 86 has fought, removed, and disabled more than 19,700 bad and toxic articles and videos against the Party, State, and Army.
Concluding the conference, Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong praised and highly appreciated the efforts of agencies and units in the entire army.
In the coming time, the Deputy Minister of National Defense requested agencies and units to always closely follow and seriously and effectively implement the directives, resolutions and regulations of the Party, State, and Ministry of National Defense on institutional building and improvement; judicial reform, administrative reform and crime prevention and control.
Judicial agencies need to strictly and legally carry out investigation, prosecution, trial, and execution of judgments; Concentrate on handling serious and complicated cases and incidents to ensure compliance with prescribed time limits. Strengthen inspection, examination and auditing to detect early, rectify and promptly handle violations, not to accumulate into major violations.
