In the first 6 months of 2025, Quang Tri has just completed the arrangement of administrative units, perfected the two-level government apparatus, and deployed socio-economic development tasks, achieving many comprehensive results.
GRDP growth rate reached 7.48%, the economic structure shifted in the right direction, agricultural production was stable, industry - construction maintained growth momentum, tourism recovered strongly with nearly 6.6 million visitors, budget revenue reached VND 7,170 billion, up 22.7% over the same period.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Dang Quang informed that this session will review, discuss and decide on many important groups of contents: public investment, finance - budget, policy mechanisms to support cadres after the arrangement, medium-term public investment plans, spending regimes to ensure the activities of People's Councils at all levels, regulate the number of teaching contracts, and issues on science and technology, supervision, questioning and answering questions.
He called on delegates to focus on analyzing the results, clarifying the limitations, and proposing solutions to promote potential and advantages to achieve the GRDP growth target of 8% or more.
Opportunity to break through
Provincial Party Secretary Le Ngoc Quang said that planning, investment in key infrastructure, taking care of social security, maintaining national defense and security and expanding international cooperation continue to be focused on.
However, the Provincial Party Secretary frankly pointed out limitations such as small economic scale, unsynchronized key infrastructure, slow disbursement of public investment capital, unbreakthrough business environment, and the lives of a part of the people are still difficult.
Mr. Le Ngoc Quang suggested that it is necessary to deeply analyze the results, forecast trends, identify challenges, resolve growth targets of 8% or more, prioritize unblocking investment, handling infrastructure bottlenecks, developing tourism - logistics, and ensuring social security.
The Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee proposed to perfect the two-level government model, perfect the organization, effectively use cadres after the merger, promote administrative reform, digital transformation, and build shared data.
Mr. Le Ngoc Quang emphasized the need to review and perfect the legal system, especially the mechanisms and policies for socio-economic development, budget, investment, and social security; thoroughly grasp and quickly implement the resolutions after the session, solve difficulties from the grassroots, compete to achieve achievements to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2.
The Provincial Party Secretary stated that the last 6 months of the year are the key period to reach the targets for the year and the entire term. Quang Tri has the opportunity to make a breakthrough, but also faces many challenges, requiring solidarity and high determination of the entire Party Committee, government, business community and people to turn potential into reality, building an increasingly beautiful and civilized province.
