According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper in mid-July 2025, up to now, the Infrastructure Construction Project to serve the reception and propaganda work of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Management Board (Ba Dinh Square expansion project) is being actively implemented by the 12th Corps (Truong Son Construction Corporation - Ministry of National Defense).
Surveying the implementation of the Ba Dinh Square expansion project in mid-June, Major General Ha Nhu Loi - Deputy Director of the General Department of Logistics and Engineering (Ministry of National Defense) requested that Army Corps 12 as the contractor implementing the project should promote the highest spirit to complete the task with the best quality, absolutely not allowing any errors, even the smallest, to complete the project on schedule and on time as required.
Major General Ha Nhu Loi requested that the authorities must closely monitor the construction site and organize daily meetings at the site chaired by the Head of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Command; at the same time, report the number of troops and components to the head of the Ministry of National Defense through the project's standing agency, thereby promptly detecting arising problems and shortcomings, to report to competent authorities for timely adjustment.

According to the Ministry of National Defense, the detailed planning area is 7,191 m2, including two main functions: square land is about 4,110 m2, arranged with 28 lawns and gravel and gravel-concrete walkways; the remaining area is about 3,080 m2 of traffic land, including sidewalks and roads.
The expansion will help restore the area of Hung Vuong Street in accordance with the approved cross-section and red line boundary, while reorganizing the architectural space and landscape according to the plan to adjust the Ba Dinh political center.
The project ensures that it does not affect adjacent works, meeting the requirements of traffic safety, fire prevention and fighting and environmental sanitation.
At the request of Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh more than a month ago, units need to focus on directing site clearance to renovate and expand Ba Dinh Square to organize a ceremony, parade, and parade on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2.

Previously, in April 2025, the People's Committee of Ba Dinh District (old) handed over 2 houses and land at 4 Ba Huyen Thanh Quan and 25 Hung Vuong to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Command for receipt and management.
The 2 villas at No. 66 and 6B Chua Mot Cot Street 1,014 m2 and 740 m2 respectively) under the management of the Government Office were also handed over on schedule to implement the Ba Dinh Square expansion project.
Located on Hung Vuong Street (Ba Dinh Ward, Hanoi), Ba Dinh is currently the largest square in the country and is where the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is located.
This is also the place that witnessed many important historical milestones of the country. On September 2, 1945, in this place, President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.
Today, Ba Dinh Square has a 320m long, 100m wide campus, divided into 210 lawns, interspersed with 1.4m wide walkways. In the middle of the square is a 25m high flagpole. This place not only has parades on major holidays but is also a familiar destination for people and domestic and foreign tourists.
